Hettich HCS 385 Concealed Door Closer (EN 2-4, Hold Open Slide Rail)

Overview

The Hettich HCS 385 is a concealed (invisible) door closer designed for heavy doors in commercial and high-traffic residential settings. It uses a rack-and-pinion (symmetric) mechanism to deliver smooth, silent closing while remaining hidden inside the door and frame for a cleaner visual finish. This variant includes a hold-open slide rail, which lets the door stay open at a set position instead of closing automatically every time.

What It Does

The HCS 385 controls the closing motion of a heavy door after it is opened, closing it at an adjustable speed and securing the final latch with separate adjustable latching action. Because the closer body is concealed within the door and frame rather than mounted on the surface, it does not interrupt the door's appearance, making it suited to entrances where aesthetics matter as much as function.

Who It Helps

• Architects and builders specifying door hardware for commercial entrances, offices, or high-end residential doors
• Facility managers replacing or upgrading door closers on heavy doors (80-100 kg)
• Hardware dealers and contractors sourcing EN-rated concealed closers with hold-open functionality
