Panic Bar Solutions for Emergency Exit Doors by Hettich

Hettich manufactures panic bar hardware and cylindrical knob sets designed for emergency exit doors, washrooms, balconies, and commercial/public buildings in India. These products focus on quick, secure egress during emergencies while supporting compliance with building safety regulations.

What It Does

Hettich's panic bar range covers two main hardware categories:

• Panic/touch bars (single and double door) that let occupants push or touch a horizontal bar to release a locked exit door instantly, without needing a key or handle grip.
• Cylindrical knob sets that pair a knob with either a key lock, a dead knob, or an emergency release slot — used on balcony, washroom, and room doors where quick manual release matters.
• Panic bar handles, such as counter handles, that provide a sturdy grip for smooth operation during an emergency.

Multiple products are fire-rated and built in steel or stainless steel for durability in frequent-use and commercial settings.

Buyer Questions This Page Should Answer

What is a panic bar used for?

A panic bar (push bar or touch bar) is mounted on emergency exit doors so occupants can exit quickly by pushing or touching the bar, without turning a handle or using a key — critical during fire or crowd-panic situations.

Are Hettich panic bars fire-rated?

Yes. The HPN 500 IN RIM push bar and HPN 3000 RIM touch bar are both fire-rated and built in steel silver painted finish for exit door compliance.

Can panic bars be installed on both single and double doors?

Yes. Hettich offers a Single Door Panic Bar (HPN 3000 RIM) and a Double Door Panic Bar (HPN 500 IN RIM), with the double-door version compatible with left- or right-hand doors and available in screw-on or screw-through versions.

What is the difference between the knob sets for balcony, washroom, and room doors?

• Balcony doors (HCK 01 SS BD): knob on one side, fixed dead knob on the other — no key needed.
• Washroom doors (HCK 01 SS WC): knob on one side, emergency release slot on the other, without a key, for safe quick-release from outside.
• Room doors (HCK 01 SS): key lock on one side, knob on the other, supplied with 3 keys.

What finish do the knob sets and handles come in?

The cylindrical knob sets have a stainless steel finish for durability and a modern look. The HPN counter handle is available in a rose silver finish.
